Our large dedicated nail area provides space for up to 3 pedicures or manicures at once. We have 3 nail tables with comfortable chairs as well as 3 luxury leather recliners to relax on while you enjoy a calming and luxurious pedicure. Our nail area is one of the largest in Adelaide.

Acrylic Nails

Acrylic nails are an artificial extension of the natural nail that is applied over a tip, form or overlay of the natural nail. They can be applied as a French manicure (pink nail bed with white tip) or as a natural look that can be painted over. Acrylic nails can be made into any shape (rounded, square, almond or pointed) or into any reasonable length. The French manicure look is the most popular.

A full set needs to be refilled every 2 to 3 weeks as the natural nail underneath grows, extending out the acrylic nail. The new growth from the cuticle is then refilled.

At Polished we allow up to an hour for a full set or refill. Any extras may increase this time - consult with our nail professionals for more information.

Acrylic Extras

We can add a number of exciting extras into the acrylic to give your nails a unique look. From different coloured glitter acrylics fading into each other to shapes embedded into the acrylic.

Polished offers 3 types of Manicures and a number of extras that can be added to your service to meet your individual needs.

Clip, Shape & Polish

A Clip, Shape & Polish is a traditional manicure where we clip and shape your nails and then apply a beautiful nail polish of your choice (we have over 100 colours to choose from!).

Polished Manicure

Our trademark Manicure involves a Clip, Shape & Polish followed by an exfoliation of your hands, a moisturising massage and your choice of nail polish.

Luxury Manicure

If you're wanting something extra special we offer our Luxury Manicure. It includes our Polished Manicure as well as a relaxing hand and arm massage and a parrafin treatment.

Pedicures

A Pedicure is a beauty treatment for your feet and toenails. At Polished we only use disposable liners in pedicures bowls and never dangerous whirlpool spas that harbour bacteria.

A Pedicure can improve your posture and make you feel like your walking on air.

Clip, Shape & Polish

A Clip, Shape & Polish is a traditional pedicure and much like a manicure, we clip and shape your nails and then apply a nail polish of your choice from Zoya - free of toluene, formaldehyde, DBP (phthalates) and camphor.

Polished Pedicure

Our trademark Pedicure begins with a foot soak in a disposable lined pedicure bowl. We then commence shaping your toenails with a disposable file. We buff the toenail if needed, push back and remove the excess dead cuticle.

We examine your foot and remove any dry skin with a disposable foot file (we never use illegal blades). The foot is then exfoliated with a scented salt or sugar scrub which removes dead skin and leaves the skin soft and supple.

Finally we massage a moisturiser into the foot to hydrate the skin and apply a nail polish from our huge collection (or Shellac as an extra).

Here is a quick overview of your nail:

Cuticle (or Eponychium)

The cuticle is a term you will hear a lot around the nail salon. It's the non-living skin the grows out along the nail as the nail grows. It's almost invisible and helps create a seal around the nail. It is removed during a Manicure

Lunula

Sometimes called "the moon", it's the white semi-circle you see at the base of your nail. It's actually the visible part of the nail matrix - the part of your body responsible for making the cells that become the nail. It's the biggest in your thumbs and may not visible in your other fingers (especially your little fingers).

Nail Plate

The Nail Plate is your actual nail and made up of the same keratin proteins as your hair and skin. It's purpose is to protect your sensitive fingertips from injuries.

Free Edge

The Free Edge of your nail is the end of the nail plate. This is where your nail professional will shape your nail during a manicure or pedicure to give it that perfect look.
