Everyone is different. At Polished Beauty we use techniques that help to minimise the pain. As you become more accustom to waxing it will become much easier. The best time to have a bikini wax is a week after menstruation as the genital area is the least sensitive at that time.
Bikini waxing and brazillian waxing can be made less painful with experienced therapists and using a special hot wax like we do at Polished Beauty. Some beauty salons use the cheaper strip wax which hurts more but we invest in a quality wax that is gentler on sensitive skin.
We also take the time you need to move at your pace and make the process comfortable for you.
The best thing to do is talk to us as we can guide you through the process – especially if it is your first time.
And of course, hygiene is always our priority - no double dippling!

It depends what you want to achieve. Whether for brazillian (pussy wax), leg waxing, facial waxing or bikini waxing, you will achieve longer lasting results than shaving. You will generally have fewer ingrown hairs as well. Waxing at Polished Beauty Adelaide is done quickly to improve your comfort but we take it at your pace especially for brazilian waxing and bikini waxing (and we use a special wax which is more gentle for sensitive areas). Many waxing salons use the cheaper ‘strip wax’ which is more painful. Of course if waxing doesn’t give you the long lasting result you want, you might want to try IPL Hair removal which we offer as well!

Most waxing takes between 15 mins and 30 mins depending on the amount of hair and the size of the area to be waxed.
How often should I get a bikini wax or brazilian wax (XXX)?
Usually a bikini wax will last between 3 to 6 weeks. You won’t see much hair in the first 2 weeks, but after the 2 week mark you may see a noticeable increase in the rate of growth. Your hair will grow quicker in the warmer months. The time between waxes will increase if you wax regularly. If you want to increase your hair-free time, we can advise you on whether you would be a candidate for IPL long term hair removal. Your therapist can provide advice on all the options.

Before Bikini or Brazillian Waxing Guide
Before you come to your waxing appointment, there are a few things you can do to ensure the best possible bikini wax and prevent ingrown hairs.
• Take a nice warm shower and thoroughly clean your pubic area
• Your pubic hair should not be too long or too short. Between 0.5cm and 1.5cm is ideal
• Gently exfoliate the area prior to waxing
• Avoid swimming or too much sun 24 hours before
• Consider what underwear you are wearing. Can the therapist work around it? The area will be sensitive after, so not too tight.
• We provide a paper G-String and towelette for your convenience
